Piggyback Golf Towels
- Hand towel, approximately 25 inches long
- Wash cloth
- Velcro
- Grommet and metal shower curtain hook
- Embroidery design or designs
Instructions:
- If the hand towel is longer than twenty-five inches, cut off at the top and make a small hem. (a finger tip towel can also be used).
- Fold the towel in thirds so that it is about 6 inches by 25 inches. The centre third is the front.
- Place and sew a two-inch square of the sticky side of the velcro approximately 2 1/2 inches from the top on the front centre, sewing through all three thicknesses of the towel.
- Put a grommet in the centre above the Velcro (it should be a good-sized grommet).
- For the piggy-back portion of the towel fold the wash cloth in thirds, the centre third being the front. On the back of the folded washcloth, close to the top, sew the smooth side of the two-inch square of Velcro, through all three thicknesses. The washcloth will stick to the towel and the golfer can remove the washcloth from the towel to clean his golf ball.
- Add the shower curtain hook and you have a completed piggy-back golf towel.
- Embroider a golf design on the lower center of the towel with the person’s name under the design. You can, if you wish, embroider a matching small design on the lower centre of the wash cloth as well.
Note: Embroidery will be easier if you embroider the design prior to assembling the towel.
